Dr. Robert Thompson

Mitochondrial Energy Revisited

In his upcoming November 2025 lecture, “Mitochondrial Energy Revisited,” Dr. Thompson will explore the often-overlooked aspects of mitochondrial physiology that are not currently measured or treated in conventional medicine. Building on his 2021 lecture, where he highlighted the crucial role of iron in aging, disease, and death—with a particular focus on COVID-19 pathophysiology—Dr. Thompson will provide further clarification on “Spike Protein Disease.” He will also revisit his 2023 discussion of the Thompson-Doberheiner Principle, which addresses trace mineral substitution in disease, now applying it specifically to mitochondrial function. This lecture will emphasize the importance of T3 thyroid hormone, Reverse T3, and potassium in mitochondrial health, aging, and a wide array of diseases, offering critical insights that synthesize the foundational work of Drs. Warburg, Szent-Gyorgyi, Harmon, and Seyfried on cellular energy, aging, and cancer. Dr. Thompson will underscore the necessity of Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) as an essential medical tool and stress that understanding intracellular potassium and other trace minerals is vital for improving health outcomes, preventing disease, slowing aging, and restoring well-being. He argues that significant changes in clinical practice—especially in diagnosing and treating hypothyroidism, accurately assessing and correcting trace mineral imbalances, and focusing on cellular energy—are required to truly improve public health. As always, Dr. Thompson promises to deliver fresh insights and important new revelations in this dynamic presentation.

Dr. Thompson is a board-certified OB/GYN, 1984, and graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, 1977. He has over 30 years of clinical experience in OB/Gyn, and advanced surgical training in Laparascopic, Hystreroscopic, and Micro-surgery. He was recognized as a reproductive surgeon 1988, and as one of the “Best Physicians in America,” 1994. He served as a Lt. Colonel in the US Army Reserves, 2002-2011. He has authored several books—including “The Calcium Lie 2,” “Iodine, What Your Doctor Didn’t Tell You…,” and soon, “Bottom Line Healt…,” 2025, “The TSH Lie,” 2025, and “The Vitamin C Lie,” 2026. Dr. Thompson will be widely recognized for discovering the “Thompson-Doberheiner Principle of Mineral Substitution.” He is based in Soldotna, Alaska. Dr. Thompson is dedicated to advancing patient health through mineral and hormone balancing. He teaches a wide range of advanced integrative and nutritional therapies, and is an accomplished concert violinist who also thoroughly enjoys the Alaskan outdoors and wilderness.
