Presentation Description
This presentation explores the emerging science of MUSE (Multilineage-differentiating Stress-Enduring) cells, a unique population of regenerative cells capable of withstanding cellular stress, recognizing and homing to sites of injury, modulating the immune environment, and participating in tissue repair.
Dr. Joseph Purita will examine what distinguishes MUSE cells from traditional mesenchymal stromal cells, the biology underlying their regenerative potential, and the evolving preclinical and clinical evidence supporting their possible role in the future of regenerative medicine. He will also introduce the concept of preparing the biological environment before MUSE-cell administration through modalities such as EBO2 and therapeutic plasma exchange. By addressing inflammation, oxidative stress, and the circulating milieu, the goal is to create a more favorable environment in which administered cells may better perform their intended biological functions.
